The Vice President, Institutional Asset Management Legal Counsel will serve as a legal advisor to BlackRock’s retirement business, advising on a broad range of legal issues relating to the provision of investment management services and managing stakeholder teams across legal, risk, and business operations.

Requirements & Eligibility
- J.D. with outstanding academic credentials
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in a major law firm, asset management firm, or regulatory agency
- Experience with ERISA, federal securities laws (Investment Advisers Act of 1940), and other federal/state laws applying to discretionary asset management
- Outstanding analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on complex legal issues across multiple asset classes and investment strategies
- Negotiate agreements governing asset management services for institutional clients
- Provide legal advice regarding investment vehicles including bank collective investment funds and separately managed accounts
- Manage, coordinate, and advise across stakeholder teams including legal, risk management, and operations
- Present complex issues to senior legal and business leaders
