Overview
The Software Engineer II will join the Storage Engineering team to design and implement core features for Apache Ozone and Apache Ratis, contributing to massively scalable distributed object storage systems and the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).

Requirements & Eligibility
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science
- Relevant industry experience
- Strong backend engineering skill set with expertise in Java or strong C++ skills with intermediate Java skills
- Hands-on programming experience with good knowledge of data-structures and CS algorithms
- Experience with system software design and development with an understanding of computer architecture, storage, network, and IO subsystems
- Clean coding habits, attention to detail, and focus on quality
- Good oral and written communication
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement core feature sets for Apache Ozone and Apache Ratis
- Contribute to the development of HDFS
- Build and optimize massively scalable distributed storage systems
- Collaborate on performance tuning and identifying performance bottlenecks
