Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer to build and maintain the systems behind Orchard’s website and the tools that help agents reach new customers, utilizing modern AI coding tools and a robust technology stack.

Requirements & Eligibility

• At least 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Strong skills in at least one language relevant to our stack (Python, TypeScript, or Go), with solid knowledge of APIs and data modeling.
• Experience directing AI coding tools effectively.
• A low-ego, problem-solving mindset with strong ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the services and interfaces that power Orchard's website and internal tools.
• Work with product and design to turn ideas into clear, well-scoped projects.
• Debug and improve core services to make them faster and more reliable as we prepare for national growth.
• Ensure our systems can scale smoothly as our user base continues to grow.
• Write clean, tested code that’s easy to understand and maintain.
• Help improve developer workflows, testing, and documentation.
• Take part in on-call rotations and own the systems you build.
• Use AI coding tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Codex as part of your daily workflow.
