As an Automation Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and improvement of automation and digital manufacturing technologies within our Indianapolis manufacturing operations, working alongside experienced engineers to improve manufacturing capability, safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline and 1+ years' experience
• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Willingness to work hands on with manufacturing equipment and automation systems
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Support the definition of automation, controls, and equipment requirements for new and upgraded manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with the development and implementation of automation projects, including controls, robotics, sensors, machine vision, data collection, and manufacturing systems.
• Work with experienced engineers, equipment suppliers, and operations teams to install, commission, troubleshoot, and validate new or modified equipment.
• Support troubleshooting of automation and manufacturing equipment to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including functional requirements, equipment specifications, control documentation, work instructions, and validation records.
• Support integration of manufacturing equipment with existing plant networks, IT infrastructure, and digital manufacturing systems.
• Support the collection and analysis of manufacturing data to identify opportunities for improved equipment performance, quality, and productivity.
