Global Payroll Specialist
Overview
As we grow across APAC and beyond, we’re looking for a Global Payroll Specialist based in Malaysia to help us ensure our people are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance across several countries. You’ll work closely with our international Finance, HR, and Ops teams, acting as a trusted expert for all things payroll.

Requirements & Eligibility
- 3+ years of payroll experience, ideally with exposure to multi-country payroll across APAC.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential payroll and employee information.
- A proactive and positive working attitude, with a willingness to learn, support the team, and look for practical ways to improve processes.
- Experience with payroll software and good working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including reconciliations and data checks.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to follow tasks through to completion and escalate issues when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day end-to-end payroll process for multiple APAC countries (Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, China, Japan) ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with local requirements.
- Take ownership of payroll issues through to resolution and proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of day-to-day payroll processes.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, following established payroll processes, controls, and confidentiality requirements.
- Support statutory payroll requirements and submissions, ensuring relevant deadlines are tracked and met.
- Provide clear and responsive payroll support to employees, resolving queries within agreed SLAs and prioritizing urgent or time-sensitive matters.
- Prepare and review payroll reports, payment files, reconciliations, and other payroll documentation required for each payroll cycle.
- Work closely with payroll vendors to provide accurate inputs, review payroll outputs, follow up on issues, and ensure agreed payroll timelines are met.
- Coordinate closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll data is accurately reflected between Workday, payroll software, and payroll accounting.
